Why a farm? And why start a farm, especially in this day and age? Isn't farming hard work? Isn't is unpredictable? Don't you have to work in the elements all year round?

Meet Tom Fair, owner and operator of 13 Moon Harvest and the solo guy who slugs it out with drought, heat waves, freezes, thaws, refreezes, flooding, high winds, woodchucks, mice, voles, moles, and an unprecedented amount of beautiful vegetation.

He is a third generation market gardener on both sides of his family. He has managed Stearn's Organic Farm in Framingham, Massachusetts; he has started The Four Season Home and Garden, a company whose purpose was to bring edible vegetation into the suburban yards of its customers; and in 2003, he finally launched Three Sisters Farm on a small plot of family land in Framingham, Massachusetts. Encouraged by outstanding customer response to his high-quality produce, he started Three Sisters Farm in the Pioneer Valley in October of 2004. Three Sisters Farm is now 13 Moon Harvest and sits on two acres along Greenfield Road in beautiful Montague Center and, under the experienced hands of her grower, proudly produces thousands of pounds of delectable fruits and vegetables eight months out of the year.
